Getting there: Wairiang is a small port town on the east coast of Lembata. It takes about 4 hours to reach from Lewoleba, along one of the bumpiest roads in Indonesia. The trailhead at Meluwiting is about 1 hour from Wairiang. Accommodation: Yusuf’s Catholic Billiard House in Wairiang provides the only accommodation and meals in town – at very reasonable prices.
